Designing your home or redecorating can cost a lot of money. Apart from the actual design or renovation work, you would need to get furniture, curtains, lights and lots more. If you are tight on your budget, continue reading on to know several tricks that will help spruce up a dull home. All you need is your old stuff. Really, we are not joking. Tip 1: Rearrange your furniture. Move your sofa, dresser or bed. Always enlist your family or friends to help you with larger furniture. Tip 2: check your storeroom or garage. Do you have old cans of paint lying around? If you have enough, paint your room or living room, it’s your choice. If you don’t have enough paint for the entire room, consider an accent wall over the ceiling. You can also paint over old furniture like a corner table, photo frames or a bookshelf.  Tip 3: Do you have fabrics that you have never used because it did not match the ambience of the room? It is time to take them out. You can use them to cover pillows or bolsters in the bedroom. It’s fun to mix and match sometimes. If you have the time, create a patchwork.

  Tip 4: While you are at it, you can also add some ribbons, lace and other trimmings to curtains, sheets, pillows and table cloth. You will be surprised at how your bedding can go from ordinary to sophisticated and elegant! It’s all in your hands (or rather, fingers!).  

 Tip 5: Display unique items such as mirrors, plates even framed insects. If you are a collector of sorts, this is your chance to put your priceless possessions on display. They can be a conversation piece at your next party.
